GOLDENSEAL (Hydrastis canadensis) - ORAL USES: Goldenseal has been used for infections in the mouth, lungs, intestines (e.G., traveler's diarrhea) and uirnary system.

It has also been used for swelling (inflammation), indigestion, cold and flu symptoms, menstrual disorders, gallbladder inflammation and liver disease (cirrhosis).
Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives.
